Who is Helena McBride?

ABOUT

“A PLACE FOR EVERYTHING AND EVERYTHING IN ITS PLACE.”

Helena McBride founded The Space Maker in 2017. A member of the Association of Professional Declutterers & Organisers (APDO), I serve a growing UK client base and I have even undertaken unique commissions in both Europe and Australasia. I am very proud to have been awarded the Prestige Award 2021/2022 for 'Professional Organiser the Year'. and I have frequently been a guest on radio and podcasts and interviewed for in Oxfordshire Living and Oxford Life magazines.

Based in Oxfordshire, I hold Continuing Professional Development (CPD) qualifications in virtual decluttering and how to meet the unique needs of people with ADHD and hoarding disorders.

My mission is to help people curate their belongings and organise them logically. I empower my clients to live harmoniously with their treasures – making mindful choices about what to let go without adopting a minimalist lifestyle. Naturally empathetic, some of my expertise lies in recognising any potential triggers that surface when organising, and supporting people throughout what is often an emotional process.

WHO IS HELENA REALLY?

An adventurer at heart, I try to makes space in my social life for thrill-seeking experiences. These activities have included wing walking, skydiving, gliding, microlighting and climbing up (and down) tall buildings.

My latest challenges include braving the world’s fastest zip line in Wales and microlighting in Derby. So yes, you could class me as a bit of an adrenaline junkie! When I'm not jumping out of planes or climbing up tall buildings, I've taken a very active part in my local community, organising local festivals and taking on the role of chair of governors at the primary school. Currently I am Chair for the Woodcote Volunteers and I volunteer for APDO, our membership association for decluttering and organising professionals.

However, my favourite thing is spending time with my husband and two boys, or socialising with friends. Life is most definitely for living.
